What Is a Coronary Angiogram?

A coronary angiogram is an X-ray test that shows the inside of the arteries supplying your heart. A thin, soft tube (catheter) is passed — usually through the wrist (radial artery) — to the heart, a small amount of contrast dye is injected, and live X-ray images show exactly where and how severe any blockages are.
